He practices Reiki at his office in SF on a daily basis and has provided treatments for thousands of clients over the years. Dr. Smith approaches Reiki Instruction in a very unique way. He combines his scientific background with years of experience as a healer to provide both clear and practical instruction. His classes integrate audiovisual learning, crystal bowl meditation, group activities, and facilitated discussion. He also offers practical insights for those who plan to go into practice. You will leave with confidence in your ability to provide Reiki to both yourself and others.

There are as many different ways to teach and learn Reiki as there are Reiki Masters in the world. Each teacher brings their own experience and view of the universe. At the same time, each group of students brings their own energy, understanding, and expectations to the table. Therefore, no two lessons are ever quite the same.

Dr. Smith began his career working in the scientific arena and later transitioned into alternative healthcare. He is adept at discussing concepts from both Eastern and Western perspectives. This helps when introducing students to new and foreign concepts.

If you choose Dr. Smith as your Reiki Instructor, prepare to have your mind blown. He will help you gain a deep understanding of energy work based on physics, history and practical application. You will practice, feel, discuss and discover your innate ability to work with energy.

Dr. Smith’s Approach to Reiki Instruction

Reiki is classically taught in 3-4 modules bases on the teacher’s discretion. Dr. Smith chooses to break his teachings into 3 sections. The first two can be taken in tandem, especially if the student is traveling from afar to learn. However, individual practice and personal development is recommended before proceeding further.

Reiki 1 Classes | San Francisco

In Reiki 1 you will learn how to talk about Reiki which can be difficult. You will learn the history of Reiki, and as a group we will explore your “energetic anatomy.” We will do several group activities to help you see and feel the energy in and around you.

We will do several meditations with the aid of crystal singing bowls to help raise our vibrational levels. You will learn hand positions for self-care and have several opportunities to practice. We will discuss the ethics around energy healing, and you will receive your first attunement.

Reiki 2 Classes | San Francisco

In Reiki 2 you will learn about power symbols and how to use them. You will deepen your understanding of the Chakras through hands-on activities. You will learn how to channel Reiki energy for others, how to provide energy at a distance, and you will receive your second attunement. There will be ample opportunity to practice both giving and receiving Reiki.

Reiki 3 Classes | San Francisco

For most students, Reiki 1 and 2 are all of the knowledge needed for practice. In Reiki 3 you are attuned to the level of Reiki Master. You will learn how to give attunements and how to approach teaching Reiki to others. For those who are seek to become Reiki Masters, it is recommended that they subsequently audit or repeat the earlier Reiki classes to help solidify their knowledge and grasp of the material. Also, it is recommended that they actively practice Reiki for at least 6 months before continuing to this level.

Reiki Class Costs & Schedule

Reiki 1 ($300): Dr. Smith offers Reiki 1 Classes the last Sunday of Every month. Sessions begin in the morning around 8 am and end around lunch time (approximately 4 hours). Wear something comfortable, preferably in layers as your temperature may vary as you work with energy. Feel free to bring something to drink and a healthy snack. If you can, have a vegetarian diet the week leading up to a class and refrain from drinking alcohol and caffeine if possible. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.*

Reiki 2 ($300): Dr. Smith offers Reiki 2 classes on the same days and in the same space as Reiki 1 classes following a lunch break. This is done intentionally for those students who choose to do both classes in the same sitting. You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.*

*: The location of the class may vary depending on the size of the class. It will either be in the Mission at Dr. Smith’s office or at a nearby location. Dr. Smith likes to keep his classes small and tends to have either 3 or 6 students for any given session. Payment is required in advance of the class. Payments are non-refundable but transferable to a different date with at least 48 hours notice.

Reiki 3 ($600): Dr. Smith offers Reiki 3 classes once every 3 months depending on the need. The price includes the cost of revisiting the Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 classes. If your prior Reiki training was with another instructor, it is required that you audit classes with Dr. Smith prior to the Master Level class.
